Learn About the Stan Trojanowski Northern Junior
2012 Tournament Dates: July 24th - 25th (Practice Rounds July 23rd) | Apply to Play The Stan Trojanowski Northern Junior is a nationally ranked junior golf tournament that was created in order to provide the highest level of competition for top junior players. The 36-hole stroke play event is contested over two days at Ellington Ridge Country Club in Ellington, Connecticut and is open to amateur boys and girls under the age of 19 who have not entered their first year of college. Our goal is to provide the same first class championship experience and red-carpet treatment that the best national events around the country offer. The 2012 event, our 11th annual, will be contested on July 24th - 25th. Contestants are selected on the basis of their competitive record and accomplishments in major tournaments. Complete selection criteria and application process will be released March 1st on our website. There will also be an 18-hole qualifier for the tournament, which will be held on Monday, July 16th at Simsbury Farms Golf Course. The field for the qualifier will be strictly filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. Format: All players will play 18-holes of stroke play on Tuesday, July 24th and Wednesday, July 25th at Ellington Ridge Country Club. Starting times will be from 7:00am to 12:30pm both days. There will be an awards ceremony and trophy presentation following the conclusion of play on Wednesday at approximately 5:00pm. Divisions and Eligibility: There will be a Boys and Girls Championship Division, which is open to any male or female junior golfer who has not reached their 19th birthday by July 25th, 2012. All players must be an amateur golfer as defined by the USGA, and must not have entered their first year of college. Championship Schedule: AJGA Performance Based Entry: The 2012 Boys Champion will receive two (2) AJGA Exemptions, and the top five (5) finishers in the Boys Championship will receive one (1) AJGA Exemption. The 2012 Girls Champion will receive one (1) AJGA Exemption, and the top three (3) finishers in the Girls Championship will receive one (1) AJGA Performance Star. Tournament Invitations: The 2012 Boys Champion will receive invitations to the 2012 Bobby Chapman Junior, the 2012 Joe Cheves Junior and the 2013 International Junior Masters. The Boys Runner-Up will also receive an invitation to the 2012 Joe Cheves Junior. The 2012 Girls Champion and Runner-Up will receive invitations to the 2012 Joe Cheves Junior Invitational. Prizes: The Boys and Girls Champion will receive $500 pro shop credit and Champions Trophy. Additionally, the top 7 finishers in the Boys Championship and the top 5 finishers in the Girls Championship will receive pro shop credit. |
