Tournament History
Until 2009, the tournament had been open only to Boys and Girls who were members of a Connecticut Section PGA golf course, which included Connecticut and Western Massachusetts. For the 7 years that the tournament was a member of the Connecticut Section PGA Junior Golf Tour, the Stan Trojanowski Northern Junior was unquestionably the most prestigious event on the Tour. Since its beginning, our goal has always been to provide the same championship experience and red-carpet treatment that the best national events around the country offer. We have worked hard to integrate special amenities not seen at most tournaments, such as live tournament scoring, on course leaderboards, standard bearers, and up to the minute updates on our website. The 2011 event, our 10th annual, will be a 36-hole event contested over 2 days at Ellington Ridge Country Club in Ellington, Connecticut and will be sanctioned by both the US Challenge Cup Organization and the Connecticut Section PGA. The event will also be ranked by both the Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings and National Junior Golf Scoreboard. We have also joined an elite group who offer multiple AJGA exemptions to the Boys and Girls Champions. The Stan Trojanowski Northern Junior is open to amateur Boys and Girls who have not reached their 19th birthday and have not entered college by the date of the event. Applications are available both online and for print. Wall of Champions
